The purpose of the RideFinder tool is to demystify the search for a bicycle that fits you. It provides you a list of bike frames (and their appropriate configurations) that can be made to fit your riding position, saving you and your fitter time and energy.
Whether you are looking to purchase from your local shop, bid on eBay, or rent on vacation, RideFinder is designed to enable you with options. With RideFinder, you or your fitter can choose from a list of bikes that are now configured for your ideal handlebar position.
In order to successfully use the RideFinder tool, you must be able to identify the Hx and Hy measurements of the position you intend to ride. These measurements are best obtained from a professional bike fitting session, but can also be taken from an existing bike that has already been fitted to you.
The RideFinder application generates a list of bikes that match your desired handlebar coordinates, broken down into 3 suggested stem configurations. Minimum suggested total spacer and headset top-cap height is 5mm to accommodate the lowest profile top-cap without any spacers underneath the stem. Please ensure that the RideFinder recommendations include enough total height to accommodate your desired hardware.
Category 1 Match
Utilizes a stem with -17 degree pitch to provide the lowest profile configuration. Paired with a bike with a 73 degree head tube angle, this stem is parallel to the ground, minimizing frontal area. This configuration is best suited for a fit that has been dialed in, as the option to lower the handlebars is dependent upon the presence of spacers underneath the stem.
A stem length between 80mm and 130mm with between 5mm and 30mm of total spacer and headset top-cat height is recommended for this configuration.
Category 2 Match
Utilizes a stem with -6 degree pitch (slightly above parallel to the ground) to provide an acceptable stem configuration. This configuration presents minimal frontal area, while still allowing for changes in handlebar height to be made with a different stem if the rider desires.
A stem length between 80mm and 120mm with between 5mm and 30mm of total spacer and headset top-cat height is recommended for this configuration.
Category 3 Match
Utilizes a stem with a +6 degree pitch. This configuration is acceptable, but is the least ideal of the three. Equipping a bike with a +6 degree stem raises the handlebars extensively in order to place them at the rider’s desired height. A category 3 configuration may suggest that the bike is approaching the outer limit of your fit range.
A stem length between 80mm and 110mm with between 5mm and 30mm of total spacer and headset top-cat height is recommended for this configuration.
